FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
April 27, 2015
TORONTO-The Adult Entertainment Association of Canada, which represents hundreds of workers at 30 licensed clubs in the Greater Toronto area, would like to welcome visitors to Toronto for the 2015 Pan Am & ParaPan Am Games.
We wish all the athletes the best, as we also strive to become gold medal winners in our field.
The Association will be holding entertainer awareness meetings in clubs prior to the Opening of the Games that runs from July 10 to 26; and is expected to attract 250,000 visitors to our City and beyond.
Association surveys have shown that sales at our clubs rise as much as 25% across-the-board whenever there are large events taking place in Toronto.
“We want to make sure the entertainers are aware that foreign visitors will be attending their clubs and that there will be sufficient numbers of staff available,” says Toronto lawyer Calvin Barry, who acts for the Association. “The clubs provide a safe and friendly atmosphere for adults visiting Toronto.”
The Association lobbies on behalf of the adult entertainment industry and has liaised with Police Services Board and other interested parties. In July 2014, its officials appeared before a Federal Justice and Human Rights Committee in Ottawa to present to MPs an Association-funded “Enhanced Adult Services Study.”
The Association is a non-profit business stakeholder organization designed to serve the needs of the adult entertainment industry by assisting its member clubs to become more prosperous. Adult Entertainers are a positive and integral component of the industry and our members take great efforts to ensure their clubs are safe, clean and provide a friendly environment for all.
The AEAC conducts internal staff meetings, training seminars, conferences and develop appropriate programs for entertainers in conjunction with various levels of governments.
