FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 14, 2015
TORONTO – iLive (internet Live) Radio, best known for playing rare-groove, revival and club classics is proud to announce its new cutting-edge, volunteer-run digital radio station.
Offering an exciting program of music from gospel and blues to jazz, hip-hop and R&B, iLive Radio has been gaining strong support and rave reviews since its official re-launch on April 24, 2015.
The multi-channel station, which currently serves Toronto’s Lakeshore West community, and beyond, provides listeners with three distinct avenues to stream music: web, video and mobile.
“We wanted to change the way audiences listen to radio”, says iLive founder Jason Henry who established the station in 2009, one year after migrating to Toronto from his London, U.K. home.
“It was always our mission to offer more variety, serve under-represented groups, and bridge the digital generation gap. That’s essentially why we’re here!”
The station, which can be streamed online from www.iliveradio.com and from mobile apps such as www.mixlr.com and www.tunein.com features more than 15 regular shows, produced by local DJs and music collectives, from Toronto, Montreal and London, U.K.
Our signature shows include:
Spinr: Examining DJ life & culture with Stokes on Sundays from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The Spot: Lifting the lid on Toronto’s thriving art scene with Sheresha McIntyre and Ali Harris-Saunders on Sundays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Vibes N Vinyl 2.0: Gene King, Ray Prasad and Claire Garber present House Music’s finest on Fridays from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Always Digging: Geoff Scull and DJ Gazza explore the pop and soul sides of the music coin on Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
iLive Radio also provides training opportunities to those who wish to learn studio production skills, and provides a forum for community leaders to talk to South Etobicoke residents.
